Our Lady of Mount Carmel - Enrollment Procedures
ACCEPTANCE AND REGISTRATION POLICIES
Acceptance
policies for OLMC Regional School have been developed by the
Regional School Board in accordance with directives established by the
Diocesan School Office. In the event that all who apply cannot be
accommodated in a particular grade, first preference will be given to
students from the regional parishes, provided application has been made
on time. Second preference will be given to families who already have
children in the school, provided application is made on time. Registration
for Kindergarten takes place in February. A screening test is given in March
and acceptance notices are sent out within two weeks of testing. Registration
for other grades takes place later in March. Parents must present copies of
current report cards and Achievement Test scores, to determine their acceptance.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Children
entering Kindergarten must be five years of age by September 30th of the
year in which they seek admission. Children entering First grade must be six years
of age by September 30th of the year in which they seek admission.
At the time of registration the following information is necessary:
- Baptismal certificate of any registrant not baptized in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel
or St. Andrew the Apostle parish
- Immunization records and medical history
- Registration fee
Parents who wish to register a child for any grade other than Kindergarten or First
are asked to submit the following:
- Report card from previous year
- Baptismal certificate
- Achievement test scores
- Health records
- Example of student's work
- Registration fee
Additionally:
- Parents are required to support school philosophy and regulations
- Support PTA activities
- Participate in fund-raisers
- Provide financial support to the Church
